Cedar City, UT, February 1,2017 - Every year The Leavitt Group hires a handful of the top students from the accounting program at Southern Utah University to be Regional Controller's Assistants (RCA's). During the 2016 hiring process, Shalyn Bagley, a senior accounting major at SUU, was lucky enough to be selected for one of these positions.

As an RCA, Shalyn gets to spend her days practicing what she learns in the classroom in real life situations. On a day to day basis Shalyn is able to complete tasks such as bank reconciliations, running reports, creating journal entries, and helping company controller's with a numerous amount of tasks. Through the opportunity The Leavitt Group has provided her, she has been able to gain experience that will help her in her future accounting career.

After Shalyn was offered the position at The Leavitt Group she decided she wanted to use the internship as her EDGE project. An EDGE project is SUU's way of helping students reach personal and professional goals through a long-term project that students are able to complete. These projects help students get recognized by and stand out to employers as they enter the job field.
