Day to Day as an RCA

Between school and homework you can find me at The Leavitt Group working away. With a crazy school schedule I walk back and forth from school to work everyday to complete all the tasks on my schedule. Being a Regional Controller's Assistant can be very stressful at times.
The first thing I do when I get to work is check my missed calls and e-mails. After responding to all messages and attending to as many of the e-mail tasks at hand, I walk up two flights of stairs to the mail room. After gathering the RCA mail I then am in charge of sorting and distributing it to the correct recipients. Often times I have to scan the mail and e-mail it to individuals at other locations.
During the first 2 weeks of the month I complete around 7 bank reconciliations. These bank reconciliations help the internal audit team and company controllers to make sure that all transactions taking place are accurate and legitimate. These bank reconciliations could take anywhere from 5 minutes to a couple of hours to complete and the time it takes usually depends on the month. After verifying all transactions I gather all the documents and send them to accounting contacts and controllers for them to review.
Once in a while I will be asked to cover the front desk and take phone calls while the receptionist is out to get the mail from the post office or while she takes any breaks. During this time I am able to direct people to their needed location and connect people with who they need to speak with.
I am assigned anywhere from 4-8 projects per month that controller's request. These assignments usually take me anywhere from a couple hours to a couple of days to complete depending on the size of the project. One of my biggest projects is called "AMC Verification." During this project I lead all the other RCA's in verifying the information between the accounting system and the reporting system. I then compile the information into a spreadsheet and send it off to the controller.
Between all of my work I clock in and out several times to go to class and to take care of other tasks. My days are often very busy and stressful, but I wouldn't trade my experience at The Leavitt Group for anything.
